The following points should be taken into consideration for planning school and classroom astronomy presentations.

  1. Taylor school programs to state education guidelines in each state
  2. Limit school presentations to 20 minutes each, especially for elementary grade students
  3. Consult with teachers to make sure any program you plan to present will coordinate with in class lesson plans
  4. Parents are busy. Even if a child wishes to attend an evening star party, parents may not have time.
  5. Utilize remote control telescopes located in night time locations for live observing in classroom during day
  6. Use computer controlled, electronic imaging devices to project real time images on screen for an entire classroom. (eAstronomy)
  7. Use online resources of astronomical images to simulate real time observing
  8. Create realtime solar observing programs duing daylite hours
  9. Coordinate with local libraries, school and outreach agencies to create astronomy presentations for school age children during summer vacation months.
