SWRAL - The Southwest Region of the Astronomical League
SWRAL - the Southwest Region of the Astronomical League - is one of the ten regions of the Astronomical League. It consists of AL member clubs and At-Large members located in Texas, New Mexico and parts of Oklahoma.

While SWRAL has assisted area clubs with events such as Okie-Tex Star Party, El Dorado Star Party and the Hill Country Astronomers Spring Banquet, the main focus has been its involvement with the annual Texas Star Party.

As part of the original agreements with assisting with the operation of Texas Star Party, SWRAL helps to solicit AL members to attend and to recruit TSP volunteers. In return, TSP provides money annually for the SWRAL Development Fund. The monies are then sent to the various clubs. While every SWRAL club receives something, clubs whose members volunteer at TSP will get larger amounts.

Every volunteer is helping his club, by influencing, in some part, the amount that his club receives each year.

MEETINGS

The SWRAL holds its annual meeting each year during the week of TSP, where there is the prospect of both high and convenient attendance by SWRAL clubs.

If an SWRAL club would like to hold a regional event and needs the assistance of SWRAL, please contact us using an e-mail address below.
